The group will meet in London Heathrow and from here there will be a bus transfer to our lovely hotel in Kent, the Brandshatch Place & Spa.

Brandshatch Place Hotel & Spa dates back to 1806, when it was built by the Duke of Norfolk as a country home. He later gave the house to one of his gentlemen friends in the locality and Brandshatch Place remained a prestigious private residence until 1977.

Kent – the Garden of England

Stunning castles, glorious gardens and stately homes – Kent is a treasure trove of historic attractions and scented sites, all waiting to be explored.

Once a separate kingdom and England’s oldest county, Kent boosts a compelling collection of architecture and estates. From the spectacular Canterbury Cathedral to charming medieval streets walked by Churchill and Charles Dickens, everywhere you go you can discover a new unique story. The Garden of England is aptly named, boasting exquisite sanctuaries to delight the senses and help you recharge your batteries.

In Kent we will visit the famous Sissinghurst Castle & Gardens – the world renowed gardens here were created by writer and poet Vita Sackwille-West and her husband Harold Wilson. Hever Castle & Gardens, the childhood home of Anne Boleyn, is another attractive garden we will be able to enjoy in Kent. Before we head north towards The Cotswolds, we will pay a visit to Chartwell House, the family home of Sir Winston Churchill, famous for its lovely rose garden. The Churchill family loved Chartwell. It was a home and a place that truly inspired Sir Winston. The house is still much as it was when the family lived here – pictures, books and personal mementoes evoking the career and wide-ranging interests of this influential family. The studio is home to the largest single collection of Churchill’s paintings.

The Cotswolds region is a delightful tangle of roads undulating gracefully between ancient hedgerows and tiny gardens, fairytale villages with evocative stone churches, honey-colored mansions, thatched cottages and farms. Not surprisingly it was designated an “Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty” already in 1966. A delightful mix of English traditions, amazing gardens, delicious food and relaxing village living. Visiting the Cotswolds is like entering a time capsule, but only on the surface. In The Cotswolds our home will be the indulgent 15th century estate Ellenborough Park. Steeped in history this hotel will be a perfect backdrop for the exploration of the glorious gardens of The Cotswolds.

A highlight of the tour is the visit to Highgrove Gardens, the estate of the most famous inhabitant of this region, HRH Prince Charles. Highgrove is his private residence and where the prince spends most of his time and devotes his energy to develop the gardens around the house, cultivate organic vegetables and paint his watercolours. We are privileged to be given a tour of the gardens, and we will also enjoy lunch here in the Highgrove Café.

All the gardens we will visit on the tour, have been carefully selected by ARNE&CARLOS who have travelled extensively around England, visiting the country’s most beautiful and unique gardens – now for all of you to enjoy together with garden enthusiasts ARNE&CARLOS! We look forward to welcome you to this amazing tour – and to the limitations for groups at Highgrove, we only have a limited number of places on this tour, so please make your reservation soon to avoid disappointment.
